Zimbabwe Northwoods Adventures offers some of the finest hunting, fishing and photographic opportunities in Zimbabwe. Wildlife concessions encompass nearly 2 million acres of unspoiled wilderness stretching from the shores of Lake Kariba in the north to the game-rich Lowveld in the south, including Chirisa at the base of the Zambezi Escarpment and the famous Matetsi Safari areas. Our outfitter has a total of 13 camps from which to choose, offering large, diverse hunting quotas for both Big Game and Plains Game hunting. With 17 full-time professional hunters and nearly 200 allocated hunting days per year, we can tailor-make a safari to suit any individual criteria that our clients request. Information: Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in central, southern Africa with a well established safari industry. Internal travel is safe and reliable. Zimbabwe boasts excellent hotels, infrastructure, and facilities and is admired for the openness and friendliness of its people. Climate in Zimbabwe is ideal, and excellent weather is experienced year round. The best months for hunting are March through October. Catering: All of our camps and areas offer the same high-level of service. We boast the finest cuisine prepared by talented chefs who will provide you with a wide range of food, from roast eland lion to guinea fowl casserole. Our camp staff are there to spoil you and will cater to your every need. Your daily rate covers all your soft and hard drink requirements. Wine is served with every meal and you will enjoy an unlimited supply of ice to go with your drinks. If you have any particular preferences, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. Accommodations: We offer camps that are both tented traditional style or thatched rondavels with bathroom attached. Either way you will enjoy hot and cold running water, flush toilets and comfortable surroundings. The rooms are well lighted by either 12-volt or electric generator. Your laundry is done daily, so no need to bring an extensive supply of clothing. Please not that all ironing is done using a flat coal-heated iron. There is an electrical service to charge your cameras, etc.. Each room has comfortable beds and inner spring mattresses and overhead mosquito netting.
Each camp is equipped with a well-stocked first-aid box, however, if you have personal allergies or afflictions, we recommend you bring along a sufficient supply of your own medication. As Zimbabwe is prone to malaria, we strongly advise you to start a course of anti-malarial prophylactics at least two weeks prior to your arrival. Firearms and Ammunition: We leave the particular choice of firearms to our clients, however, National Parks regulations in Zimbabwe require minimum calibers for certain species. Basically, you will need a rifle of .375 or bigger for the heavy, think-skinned animals such as elephant or buffalo, and anything from .270 and up for the smaller, soft-skinned antelope. Zimbabwe does not prohibit the temporary importation of semi-automatic weapons or handguns. There is also no limit on the amount of ammunition you may bring into the country. If you enjoy bird shooting, bring along a shotgun as we offer excellent opportunities in all our areas for a pleasant afternoon's entertainment. Click HERE For More Pictures...
